SERVICES TUESDAY FOR MRS. SHEARER
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Susie Jane Shearer, 71, at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church wth the Rev. D. A. Wood officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery. The pallbearers were Melvin Cady, Claude Card, Isaiah Wideman, Clarence Pike, Walt Robertson and Irvin Linabery. Susie Jane Campbell was born September 29, 1884, in Ontario, and came to Gladwin County as a small girl.
She married Francis H. Shearer on April 16, 1907 in Sage township. In 1945 she and her husband retired from their farm in Grout township and moved into Gladwin. Mr. Shearer preceded her in death in 1952. Mrs. Shearer passed away Saturday after an illness of two years. She was a member of the Gladwin Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Alvin and John, of Grout township; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Bosworth and Mrs. Edna Edick of Grout township and Miss Doris Shearer at home; a brother, John Campbell, of Kalkaska; a sister, Mrs. Clara McGilvery of Clare county; also 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
