Winthrop, Dec. 13 - Joel Gilbert Montgomery died Thursday at his home in Winthrop. Born Nov 26, 1881, in Kansas. Mr. Montgomery had lived for 43 years in East Wenatchee, moving to Winthrop three years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Zella; two daughters, Mrs. B. C. Stockdill of Twisp and Faith Jewell Montgomery of Winthrop, and one son, Jesse D. Montgomery of Winthrop; one grandson and one sister, Mrs. Rose Merrill of Seattle.

Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church in Winthrop Monday at 2 pm with the Rev. Wendell Cone officiating. During the service, Mrs. Floyd Kent will sing "Beautiful Isle" and "In The Garden." Burial will be in the Sullivan cemetery at Winthrop. Pallbearers will be Walter Woodward, Niles Carroll, William Lester, Percy Honess, J. Burge and Arthur Woodward.
