Tualatin River Farmer, Passes
OREGON CITY, Or., Oct. 21 (Special)--Thomas J. Johnson, 83, died today at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson in West Linn.
Mr. Johnson, who farmed along the Tualatin river near Willamette for many years, was born in Piketon, O., October 1, 1852. The family lived at Stayton for three years before moving to Willamette. After his first wife's death in 1903, he married Clara Gordon in 1910.
He is survived by four children, Mrs. J.W. (Nellie) Giles of Willamette, Mrs. C.A. (Bessie) Colson of Estacada (Dodge), Thomas W. Johnson of Portland and Harold Johnson of West Linn; three step-children, Mrs. Grover Coffin (Ruth) Gordon) of Everett, Wash; Lynn Gordon and Ruth Gordon of Seattle; and nine grandchildren, Robert Giles of Oregon City, Thomas Giles of Willamette, Mrs. Ted Bino (Ima Giles) of Willamette, Edth Giles of Willamette, Mrs, Sidney Frederickson (Geraldine Colson) of Portland, Clinton Colson of San Francisco, Lester and Ray Colson of Estacada and Iris Landon of Portland.
Funeral services will be held Weds. at 3:30 o'clock in the Holman, Pace & Hankins Chapel
