Son of Stephen Pearson (1774-1854) and his first wife Mary Fletcher (1775-1833).

Brother to Stephen Edward Pearson, Flavius J Pearson.

After his father's death and after his stepmother remarried, he was sued by his stepmother for additional support. This court case is still studied at Harvard Law School.

It is not proven that Jeremiah is buried here by headstone, but his children are here and this was his property; family documentation indicates he is here. This is one of two adult graves, marked with head and foot stones, next to the children.
