John H. Deyo died at his residence in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday last week, aged 67 years. Mr. Deyo was a native of new Paltz and had a number of relatives here. He was the only child of Elting Deyo, and the old home was the farm now owned by Abner Dubois, a short distance northeast of the Middletown school house. Mr. Deyo in his early days taught school for a time and afterwards engaged in the mercantile business in Rondout. His wife was Miss Lucy Hall, of Massachusetts. They had but one child, Milo Deyo, the noted pianist. For a number of years past the deceased had resided in Po'keepsie and been in business as a traveling salesman. The interment was in the New Paltz cemetery.
