Goad, Marion, Rev.-73, of Route 2, Oneida, passed away Friday morning, December 31, at the Scott County Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Early Goad and the late Arona McGhee Goad and was also preceded in death by one sister, Clodia Lowe; and two sons, Ernest Goad and Segal Goad. Mr. Goad was a retired coal miner and was an ordained minister for many years. He was also a member of the Straight Fork Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Hazel C. Reed Goad; five daughters, Mrs. Sherrod (Barbara) Lowe and Mrs. Kenneth (Pearl) Clowers, both of Knoxville, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Orick of Caryville, Mrs. Lawson (Rose) Maples of Sevierville, and Mrs. Bobby (Reva) Gibson of Huntsville; four sons, Vincent Goad of Knoxville; Jack Goad and Ray Goad, both of Orlando, Fla., and Frazier Goad of Winfield; three sisters, Lydia Motley and Mrs. Wade (Beulah) Nelson, both of Pioneer, and Gemima Hughett of Oneida; one brother, Carl Goad of Pioneer; 41 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, at the Straight Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Odus Lay and Rev. Edmon Lowe officiating. The Lloyd Family Singers sang. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwayne Bridges, Eddie Goad, Paul Goad, Phillip Goad, Raymond Goad, and Marshall Lloyd.
