After her parents death, on the 1900 census, Jamestown. Chautauqua, NY she and her brother John A are living with their aunt and uncle, Joseph W. and Harriet K Upham. Marjorie spent 30 years on the faculty of the Pratt Institute, located in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, as a supervisor of clothing courses since September, 1916. In this role, she taught thousands of women the art of dress making. She was past president of the New York State Home Economics Association, former executive committee member of the Home Economics Association of Greater New York, and former chairman of the handicraft committee of the New York Fashion Group (September 13, 1942, The Brooklyn Daily Eagle from Brooklyn, New York · Page 8) In July 1940, she was executrix of her Uncle Edward B Lynch's will.
