Southern Ulster loses one of its best citizens in the death of Mr. Abm. D. Deyo, of Gardiner. He had been for a great number of years one of the most prominent citizens of the town, occupying various positions of public trust and distinguished alike in his public and private life for his upright, honorable character.

Abm. D. Deyo died last week at his residence in Gardiner. He was well known to many of our oldest business men says the Freeman. He was a graduate of Rutgers' College, and was for many years Elder in the American Reformed Church at Guilford, and took great interest in all church work and charitable organizations. He was a Director in the Wallkill Valley Railroad at its organization, and for many years Secretary of the Board. He was a devoted Republican in politics. He was specially beloved in his home circle, and as a highminded, intelligent, upright citizen. He leaves few equals in southern Ulster, or in truth, in any community.
