He was born on Feb. 17, 1920, in Elyria, and has lived most of his life in the Wellington and Kipton area. He was a 1938 graduate of North Ridgeville High School. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and the Ardennes. He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. For his actions he received five Bronze Service Stars. Following the war he was a farmer and a bus driver for Firelands Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Camden Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Marian (James) Woodrum, of Oberlin; and two nephews James D. (Margie) Woodrum, of Oberlin, and Richard (Melanie) Woodrum, of Wellington.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Bertha (Sharp) Laundon.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, where services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Larry Nocella will be officiating. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
