CAMDEN TOWNSHIP — Jack Ward, age 83 of Camden Township, died Monday at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.
He was born on April 18, 1925, in Wayland, KY, and has lived in the Camden area since 1950. He was a 1943 graduate of Wayland High School and worked at York International in Elyria for 35 years as a millwright. He was a professional clown, working at many hospitals and local festivals. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and auto racing. He was an avid model railroader and belonged to several local clubs. He worked on the Safety Crew at Lorain County Speedway for ten years.
He is survived by his nephews Gary L. Hanes, of Amherst, Jerry "Joe" (Susan), Bellevue, Nebraska, and David (Lisa) Hanes, of North Olmsted.
He was preceded in death by his parents Guff and Gertrude (McKinney).
Friends may call from 10:00 until the time of services at 11:00 am at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
