Frederick W. Asche, 93, a pioneeer Platte county resident who lived at 1803 10th Street, died unexpectedly about 8 p.m. Friday in St. Mary's hospital. He had been taken to the hospital Wednesday after breaking his hip in a fall at home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. J.N. Slice, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Leigh.

The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral home from 11 a.m. Sunday until 12:30 p.m. Monday, then at Trinity Lutheran church from 1 to 2 p.m.

Mr. Asche, born Sept. 27, 1864 in Germany was the oldest of 13 children of Gerhard and Anna Tempelman Asche. In 1869 he came to Platte county with his parents, who homesteaded near Creston.

He married Martha Dasenbrock on April 7, 1892 at Leigh, and they had 10 children, all of whom survive. Mrs. Asche died in 1914. In 1917 he married Mrs. Emile Krueger, who preceded him in death Dept 28, 1944.

Mr. Asche had farmed at Leigh until 1917, taking an active part in community and farm affairs, and serving on his district school board. Since 1917 he lived in Columbus and for a number of years he was a member of the board of the Columbus Farm Loan association.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Surviving are his 10 children, Walter G. and Mrs. Charles (Martha) Bogenreif of Omaha; Paul, Arthur H., Olga M. and Harry E., all of Leigh; Mrs. Hildegard Clausen of Norfolk; Fred Jr., and Minnie of Columbus and Mrs. Thelma Richards of Fanwood, N.J.

Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gus (Emily) Trofholz Jr., of Columbus; brother Otto of Leigh; sister Mrs. Mathilda Wurdeman of Leigh; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

One grandson, Kenneth Bogenreif, preceded him in death. Deceased brothers and sisters are Gerhard, Carl, August, Mrs. Emma Mackenstadt., Mrs. Ida Mackenstadt, Mrs. Lucy Vasek, Mrs. Annie Wendt, John Louis and George.

Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran church building fund.
