Aged Woman of Muskingum Co Claimed Today
Mrs. Elizabeth Vensel, aged 81, widow of John W. Vensel, died early this morning at her home in Adams tp., Muskingum [sic] co., four miles north of Adamsville, from vertigo.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Solomon Gaumer and was born in the vicinity of Adamsville on December 23, 1840 [sic 1850]. She was married September 14, 1871, to Mr. Vensel, and two children, Charles E. Vensel, a member of the Muskingum co. election board, and Mrs. Rose Wohlheter were born. Besides the children, a brother, Charles M. Gaumer of Denver, Colo; a grandson and a great-grandchild survive.
Mrs. Vensel belonged to the Zion Lutheran church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the late home followed by services at the New Hope Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, Rev. Dale Recker will officiate, and burial will be made in the church cemetery.
