Quotes from family about Prudence Elizabeth:

"…Grandma Nusbaumer moved back in with her parents and taught school in a one room school house. She told stories of her father driving her to school (to teach) in a horse and buggy. Grandma Nusbaumer had lots of home remedies and was a wonderful cook and candy maker. She was a very slender little lady that worked harder than anyone I'd had ever seen. She was very witty, well-read, loved her family. …I still miss her." ~ Loretta Houseman Sperling

"I remember the home made bread & butter. I also remember the home made candy canes." ~ Frank Collins, Jr.

"I remember us kids getting to pull the taffy when she made the candy canes!!!!" ~ Loretta Houseman Sperling
