VIRGINIA WINEGAR BRADY of Panorama Village, TX, formerly of Houston and Crystal Beach, TX, joined her beloved husband on Monday, September 14, 2009. She was born February 1, 1920, in Warren, AR., to M. Gordon Winegar and Ruth Tucker. Her father died during her early childhood. She was married to Carl Boyd Brady on February 14, 1947 in Camden, AR. After fifty-six happy years together, he preceded her in death, June 27, 2003. Her parents Ruth and B. T. Trammel of Thornton, AR; brother, Tom Trammel of Thornton; brother and sister-in-law, M. Gordon Winegar and Ruby Anne Hardeman Winegar of Houston, TX; and sister and brother-in-law, Pat Trammel Green and Maurice Green of Leola, AR also preceded her.She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Anne Brady Davis and Son-in-law John Renfro Davis, of Conroe, TX. Also surviving are brother, Jim D. Trammel of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Patsy Sue Trammel of Thornton, AR; brother-in-law, Everett Brady and wife Syble of Fayetteville, GA; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Brady of Gurdon, AR. Seven nieces, six nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews also survive. Other survivors are lifetime friend, Louise Wright Bivens of Jackson, TN, and long-time friend, Ida Mildred Luquette of Wildwood, TX.As a member of "The Greatest Generation", Virginia did her part for the war effort as a time keeper for Brown and Root Shipyards in Houston, TX. After the war she went back home to Thornton to work for her step-father, and met and married the love of her life. They moved to Houston in 1955.Virginia received a B.S.E. degree from the University of Houston and M.Ed. degree from Sam Houston State University. She was a retired school librarian whose service included junior high, high school and university libraries. And if you wanted to talk politics or history with her, you'd better bring your "A" game! A biographical sketch was included in Who's Who in the South and Southwest, 24th edition.She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Conroe, TX, their Beacon Sunday School Class and Book & Bread U.M.W. Circle.
