Born 2½ miles southwest of Monrie, IA, and passed away peacefully having spent his entire life in this vicinity. His health failed 2 years ago, being confined to the home for the last year. His suffering was born with patience and cheerfulness. He was the third child of a family of seven, all having preceeded him to the better land except one brother, Samuel Worth of Monroe, and one sister, Mrs. D.M. Bruce of Walnut, IA. He leaves 3 children to mourn his loss, J.B. Worth of Des Moines, Mrs. J.A. Hevlin of Omaha, NE, and Harry Worth of Monroe, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides a host of friends and acquaintances. In 1873 he united with the Baptist Church and remained a consistent member until his death. He was a member of the A.F & A.M. lodge of Monroe and was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias.
