Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of Ruby Bass and the late Elbert H. Boney. She grew up in Blythewood and graduated from Blythewood High School. Ms. Boney received an Associate Degree in Business from Columbia Commercial College and an Associate Degree in Accounting from Midlands Technical College. As a devoted Christian, she was a life-long member of Sandy Level Baptist Church where she taught Children Sunday School classes and worked with the music department of the church. She was general secretary for Sunday School, Secretary for the Children's Dept. and music librarian for the adult choir. Ms. Boney was also a volunteer at the Baptist Medical Center and employed by the Belk Department Store at Richland Mall. She was a sharing and giving lady that strived to help her fellow man.
