Mr. Christopher Elliot "Chris" Todd, age 23, of Douglasville, Ga., passed away Friday, September 11, 2009. He was born December 3, 1985, in Fulton County, Ga. He was a member of the Chapel Hill High School graduating class of 2004. He was attending Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn., where he was a senior majoring in Business Finance. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Lithia Springs and had attended the Church at Chapel Hill in Douglasville.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William P. Todd and Ralph B. Dodd.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah "Debbie" Mina Dodd of Douglasville; father and stepmother, Carroll and Renette Todd of Gainesville; sisters, Courtney Todd of Douglasville, Lori Carter of Gainesville and Bethany Mewborn of Douglasville; brothers and sister-in-law, Andrew Todd of Gainesville and Anthony and Alisha Mewborn of Douglasville; maternal grandmother, Jean C. Dodd of Tyrone; paternal grandmother, Hazel F. Todd of Statesboro; one nephew, Landon Mewborn; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at The Church at Chapel Hill in Douglasville, Ga.
He will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Dennis Brown, John Brown, Justin Ray, Caleb Yancey, Chad Everett, Jeff Brown and Micah Furr.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, September 16, 2009, from 3-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Christopher Todd may be made to The Christopher Todd Memorial Fund at Douglas County Bank, P.O. Box 949, Douglasville, Georgia 30133.
