He was the son of Jeremiah W. and Lydia P. Sleeper Hackett, grandson of Moulton Hackett. He married Hannah Eliza Paige in Campton Village on September 24, 1857. They had 7 children. They lived on what is now Rt. 175 and Barnard Road in Thornton. There is an old cellar hole where the house stood. Their daughter Amy L. married Frank Albert Barnard.
