Ms. Shelia Catherine Daniels, of Richmond, a retired Richmond deputy sheriff for 28 years, was called home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Inez J. Cheatham; four sisters, Greta, Louise, Pearl and Jacqueline; and her brother, Gerald.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Bey, Tonya Scott (Scott W.) and Angel Daniels; six grandchildren, Ernest Cheatham (Jessica A.), Shea Cheatham (Jessica J.), Tiffany Daniels, Frank Hubbard III, Victoria Scott and Brandon Williams; two great-granddaughters, Isis Daniels and Mikayla Cheatham; one brother, John Cheatham (Elizabeth); one brother-in-law, Eugene Meekins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Remains rested at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family received friends Wednesday, September 16, 2009, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Remains laid in state Thursday, September 17, 2009, 12 noon at Fourth Baptist Church, 28th and P Streets, where a celebration of life was held at 1pm. Rev. Dr. Marion R. Tapscott, interment Pastor. officiated, Eulogy by Leonidas B. Young. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
