Mr. Jones rode and fought with Company B, 2nd Florida Calvary. He was a "refugee" from the Confederacy. Mr. Jones was also in the Union East Gulf Blocking Squadron under Henry Crane and had served in the Florida Militia during the 3rd Seminole War. He did not fight at Olustee. Him and his wife were one of the "Founding Families" of Pasco County.
