Howard "Ike" Nimmo of Adel [IA] was born in Monroe [IA]. Ike graduated from Monroe High School & earned his Bachelor's Degree in business and Education from Simpson College in 1956. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War earning three Bronze Stars. Ike worked as an accountant at Automatic Washer in Newton, later becoming C.E.O. of Monarch Manufacturing in Wakuee [IA]. He also owned Champion Auto in Perry [IA]. He was a former Rotarian in Adel. Ike lived in Mount Ayr [IA] for six months, Newton [IA] for two years, Des Moines [IA] for one year, Carlisle [IA] for eight years and Adel for 37 years.

His wife, Carolyn (Mayhew) Nimmo of Adel; 5 children, Bruce Nimmo of Des Moines, Linda Cook of Denver, CO, Brenda Nimmo of Newton, Laura Keasey of Dallas Center [IA] & Greg Nimmo of Adel; 13 grandchildren: Makenzie Nimmo, John Moore, Melissa Moore, Adam Andrew Nimmo, Joshua Berger, Ashley Ramirez, Tamara Ramirez, Hunter Keasey, Tamilee Parascondo, Samantha Nimmo, Justin Nimmo, & Koelten Reed; & 8 great grandchildren: Brandon Nimmo, Audrey Nimmo, Dalton Nimmo, Chase Parascondo, Alexis Alvero, Jada Moore, Samantha Roberts & Alexis Roberts, survive Ike. He is survived by 3 sisters, Imogene Dailey, Betty McConeghey & Joann "Jo" Hollingsworth all of Monroe & 2 brothers, Harry Nimmo of San Francisco, CA & Herbert "Herb: Nimmo of Waukee. Ike was preceded in death by his parents & a brother, Harlan.
