Martha Marie Dotson Craig, 80, of 113 Gibbs Street, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1994, in the home of a son on Union Hill Road.
She was a native of Buncombe County, a daughter of the late James Nelson "Jim" Dotson and Dula Leola Hudgins Dotson, and wife of the late Rev. James Clingman Craig, who died in 1990. She had lived in Henderson County for 33 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Elizabeth Turner, and a son, Morris Edward Craig.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest Clinton Craig, Paul Daniel Craig and Charles Michael Craig of Dana, and James David Craig of Columbus; four daughters, Doris Juanita Sherbert and Blanche Katherine Barnes of Hendersonville, Ruby Jean Aikens of Dana and Nancy Fay Covil of Webster, Fla.; two brothers, Rev. Paul Dotson of Black Mountain and Nelson Dotson of Lake Lure; two sisters, Lillie Halford of Black Mountain and Myrtle Conner of Asheville; 34 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Nesbitt's Chapel. The Revs. Lawrence Russell and Jesse Shipman will officiate. The burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, and at other times will be at the home of a son, Paul Craig, Union Hill Road. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
