Eleanor C. Freund, 92, of McHenry, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at her home. She was born Aug. 6, 1913, in Spring Grove, to Nicholas and Ann Freund. On Nov. 18, 1939, she married Victor J. Freund in Spring Grove.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had been a cook at Edgebrook School for many years.
Survivors include three children, James N. (Betty) Freund of Dalton, Ga., Bonnie (Karl) Rindt of Wonder Lake and Lauralee (Joseph) Popp of McHenry; and five grandchildren, Gina Marie Rindt, Nicholas Rindt, Victor (Kara) Popp, Phillip (Kim) Popp and Steven Popp.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters, Martha Cossey, Dora Frett, Susan Frett and Lucille Blink; and a brother, George Freund.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Prayers will be said at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home before the 11 a.m. funeral Mass is celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Burr will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in McHenry.
