GILBERTOWN -- Marvin Edison Adams Sr., a member of New Lusk Church of God in the Lusk community, died Thursday at a hospital in Meridian, Miss. He was 77. Adams was a native of Mobile and a resident of Gilbertown. He was a member of the Mason Semmes Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Christine D. Adams of Gilbertown; three sons, Marvin Skooter Aams and Marty D. Adams, both of Saraland, and Chad Adams of Gilbertown; two daughters, Diane A. Rogers and Genae A. Hall, both of Saraland; one brother, Gaines R. Adams of Thomasville; two sisters, Vermell Nordan of Tuscaloosa and Nell Lee of Barrytown; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The service is set for 2 p.m. today at Heritage Church of God in Gilbertown. Burial will be in the Gilbertown Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown.
