Bonnie A. Bowen of Jacksonville, FL passed Friday, September 11, 2009. She was born in Bulloch County, GA, August 21, 1912, the daughter of William and Carrie Bowen. She lived in Savannah as a young adult and resided in Jacksonville, FL where she made her home since 1945. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church where she attended until she gave up housekeeping to live with her daughter. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker who received the biggest joy in life from doing and sharing things with her family. Her love, talented sewing skills and great southern cooking will be sorely missed. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Burroughs and John L. Moore of Jacksonville. One of nine children, she is survived by her sister, Lucille Allen of Savannah, GA, and one brother Jake Bowen of Stuart, FL; daughters, Sheri Charlotte Leeds, (Kenneth) of Jacksonville; Barbara Anderson of Savannah, step-daughter, Palma Simmons (Larry) of Savannah, GA; granddaughter Melissa Morrow (Mike), great-grandchildren, Connor, and Mary Elise, grandson, Ken Leeds, Jr. (Stephanie), Caitlin, and Steven, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. at Hardage Giddens Mandarin Chapel, 11801 San Jose Blvd. A committal service will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073, with Father Daniel Cody officiating.Published in the Florida Times-Union on 9/15/2009
