SHREVEPORT, LA - Kerry McKinney Peterson, 64, longtime Shreveport banking executive, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Sept. 12.
Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Broadmoor United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Ken Irby, senior pastor, assisted by Pastor Dennis Austin. Internment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was Senior Vice President of BancorpSouth. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Louisiana Tech and was a graduate of the LSU School of Banking. Throughout his life he was an avid sportsman and athlete who loved running, golfing, hunting, and dancing.
Born Dec. 17, 1944, in Winnfield, he served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-70 and was awarded various medals including the bronze star with oak leaf cluster.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Peterson; son, Keith Peterson and wife Brooke of Dallas; daughter, Kimberly Peterson and fiancé Jarrod Brown of Baton Rouge; mother Ernestine McKinney Peterson of Winnfield; sister, Pamela Baldwin and husband Tommy; brother, Kelly L. Peterson Jr. and sister-in-law, Judy Platon, of Houston; mother-in-law Rita Cox of Homer; and granddaughter, Beatrix Sidney Peterson of Dallas.
