He was a son to Francis and Catherine (Bruns) Depweg. He married Mary C. "Eileen" Kaiser, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Gary (Pam), Osgood; a daughter, Ellen (Bruce) Hetzler, Greenville; a brother, Wilford; and two sisters, Viola Strukamp and Edna Wimmers; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He and his wife owned and operated the former Depweg's Grocery in Rossburg. He served the village of Rossburg in several capacities including fire chief for the Rossburg Fire Department. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church, Greenville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the church, the Rev. John White officiating.
