Martha Jane (Lute) Bates Hamman
Born Dec 16, 1859 in Barnesboro, Cambria County, PA and died Mar 1, 1963 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, PA.

Daughter of Joseph M. Lute and Matilda (Glenn) McCall. This was a second marriage for both (widowed).
Martha Jane's father Joseph died when she was 11 years old. Her father Joseph Lute was pure German. Her mother Matilda was pure Irish (Scots-Irish).

Frederick was born July 1857 and died May 10, 1902. He is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery near Cherry Tree, PA.

Married 2nd Samuel E. Hamman (variant spellings-Hammond, Hammon). They married in 1909 either in Indiana or Clearfield Counties, PA.
Samuel E. Hamman was born Jan 1860 and died btwn 1920 & 1930. His first wife was Anna Marigold (maiden name unknown).

Martha Jane and Frederick had 3 children. They are:
1. Erma M. Bates; b) March 28, 1881; d) Sept 9, 1970; married John Stiffler
