Valentine Decker, son of John F. Decker and Nancy Hayse, was born in August 1833. He was the husband of Louisa Cockerel, the daughter of James Cockerel and Lucinda Sirles. Valentine died on July 25, 1916 in Grayson County, Kentucky. They were buried in their family cemetery near Shrewsbury, Grayson County, Kentucky. There may have been other burials in this family cemetery, but there are only the stones for Valentine and Loisa (Cockere) Decker still standing.
