Our beloved son, brother, companion and friend, Scott Benton Cole, age 34, passed away October 5, 1999, in Phoenix, Arizona, after an extended illness. Scott was born August 31, 1965, in Yuma, Arizona. Scott was educated in the Yuma area schools, attending Pecan Grove Elementary School, Fourth Avenue Junior High and graduated from Yuma High School in 1983. He also attended Eastern Arizona Community College.

Scott is survived by his father and step-mother, Tom and Pamela Cole; his mother, Helen Joyce Minnich; sister, Toby Cole and Cheryl Rademacher, and her husband Kevin; aunts and uncles, Skip and Susie Tandy of Provo, Utah, Donald and Jacque Edwards, James and Jan Edwards, and Jack Edwards, and long time friend and companion, Donald Murders, all of Phoenix, Arizona. Scott also enjoyed and cared deeply for a large extended family which includes lots of loving great aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Brent Thomas Cole; cousin, John Patrick Tandy; his beloved aunt, Rita Reese; and his grandparents, D.C. and Faye Benton Cole and Key and Theresa Edwards.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 1999, at 10;00 A.M., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 16th Street and 14th Avenue, Yuma, Arizona, Rev. Thomas A. Phillips officiating. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A private viewing for family will be held Thursday, October 7, 1999, 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Kammann Mortuary (Yuma).

All of Scott's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the many wonderful people who assisted in Scott's care and who have expressed their sorrow and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to HIV Care Directions (Phoenix) Hospice of the Valley (Phoenix), Hospice of Yuma (Yuma) or the charity of your choice.
