My grandfather served in WWII as an aircraft mechanic. I believe he was stationed in the US and not abroad. At some time he obtained a pilot's license and eventually became a civil engineer and designed many bridges & roads for the State of Nebraska, including some that I've driven over and are still in good working order today. Unfortunately he passed away from a stroke before my parents met, but I've heard many stories that make me believe he was a good man who worked long and hard to do his best to provide for the family.

I believe I heard he was a good poker player and liked Chrysler autos... I look forward to my reward of spending time with him some day...
