MRS. LYCE WARE
Mrs. Lyce (Alyce) Lillian Groves Ware, 75, a resident of Mount Pleasant Community, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Ware had been in ill health for the past seven years, but had been confined to the hospital for four-and-one-half weeks.
Mrs. Ware was the wife of Laurin R. Ware and was born on Apr. 30, 1897 in Mount Pleasant, where she resided throughout her life. She was preceded in death by a son, the late Laurin W. Ware of Crystal Springs, Miss., who died in 1959.
Survivors also include two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Margaret) Walker and Mrs. W.T. (Elva) Avara Jr., both of Pascagoula; three sisters, Mrs. Wallace Langley, Mrs. Arthur Morgan, and Mrs. Ernestine Graham, all of Gulfport; brother, Claude Groves, Gulfport; 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 6 until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The body will be taken at 10 a.m. to Vancleave United Methodist Church, where it will lie in state until 11 a.m. when services will begin.
The Rev. T.A. Sharp, of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. L.A. Cumberland of the Vancleave United Methodist Church and the Rev. M.L. Davis of Walker, La.
Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
