Archie was born on a farm near Oneonta, Cloud County, Kansas. In 1937 he married Elizabeth Mary Richardson. They divorced a few years later. Archie served in the Army during WWII. After the war ended he returned to Jamestown and farmed. In 1959 he moved to Salina and worked for Serrault Roofing until he retired. He married Melva Donahue Evert in 1964 in Salina, KS.
He was survived by four sisters.
