Brian Russell "Briney Bird" Pruitt, 47, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009, in Wichita Falls.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, in Ringgold Cemetery, Ringgold, Texas, with Rev. Terri Whitgrove officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Brian was born July 31, 1961, in Henrietta, Texas. He served our country in the United States Navy, and later owned and operated The Cabinet Co. where he was voted "Texoma's Best," and was also co-owner of B. Pruitt Oil. Brian had a great love for Harleys and John Deeres, and was an avid hunter. He and Julie were very proud of their daughters, and his daughters were very appreciative of the life they had with their father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edd Pruitt; and his grandfather, J.R. Blevins.
He is survived by his daughters, Allena Pruitt, and Lizzy Pruitt; former wife and forever friend, Julie Clarkson, all of Wichita Falls; son, Kenneth Glass of Dallas; brothers, Mark Pruitt of Shiner, and Chuck Pruitt of Nocona; his mother and stepfather, Margie and Jim Atkinson of Nocona Hills; stepmother, Karen Pruitt of Decatur; stepbrothers, Russell Cowdrey of Coppell, and Cary Cowdrey of Decatur; grandmother, Opal Blevins of Terral, Oklahoma; and his best friends, Jim and Karen Holcknecht of Henrietta.
The family received friends Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76310.
