Rites Held For MYRTLE TOMPKINS

Myrtle E. Tompkins, a resident of Villa West Care Center, passed away Sunday, March 2, 1980, at the age of 87. She was in Madison County Memorial Hospital at the time of her death.

Born February 16, 1893 in Madison County, she was the daughter of Coates and Clara Orris Wilson.

In 1914 she was married to Clifford B. Tompkins in Winterset. They spent the early portion of their life in Madison County and later went to California. She returned in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 27, 1975, and also by her parents, one brother and four sisters. Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Helmers officiated the funeral service which was held at Collins Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery.
