Lloyd "Spitter" James Wade Jr., Mechanicsville, Hanover County, VA, 82, passed away May 18, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Kirby Wade; son, Lloyd "Pete" James Wade III and wife, Lilly; daughters, Victoria "Vicky" Snellings Hitch and husband, Oliver, and Robin Wade Flora and husband, Tony; five grandchildren, Brandy Wade Morris, Ashley Renee Wade, Michael Anthony Flora, Tyler Wade Flora, and William Chase Flora; one sister, Dorothy Wade Snellings; and his special caregiver, Rebecca Goins. Mr. Wade was a member of the Richmond Homing Pigeons Racing Club, Sandston Moose Lodge No. 1937, and Wolrd Karters Association. He loved to raise and race pigeons and to race go-karts, winning many trophies and awards in both. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Wade was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. The family received friends Sunday, May 20 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. The funeral service for Mr. Wade was held Monday, May 21, at Nelsen Funeral Home, with interment following at Oakwood Cemetery.
