Friends will be interested to learn that the marriage of Miss Myra Herman and Gerald Gould took place last evening, the wedding plans being quietly arranged and no details were given out by the young couple. Miss Herman left home to spend the evening with friends, and shortly afternoon telephoned her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Herman, telling of her marriage to Mr. Gould. Mr. Gould and his bride left last night on a honeymoon trip.

Gould is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Gould of 16th street. Both Mr. Gould and his bride have been employed in the office of the Illinois Glass Company.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. D. Butler at St. Paul's [Episcopal Church] Rectory.

Surprise Party At O. H. Herman Home.

A genuine 100 per cent surprise party was given last evening at the home of Deputy Sheriff and Mrs. O. H. Herman in McKinley avenut, and the effect of same are still functioning. The way of it was this: Miss Myra Opal Herman, the eldest daughter, came home last evening to supper at the regular time, but left shortly afterwards without making known her intentions.

She probably had something extra to do in the way of preparing for an event to occur later in the evening. That later--(about 9:30 o'clock) is when the surprise was given Sheriff and Mrs. Herman. The telephone rang and when answered it was found that Miss Myra was at the other end of the wire, and did not have much time to lose, but informed the folks that she and Gerald Gould had just been married, and were leaving alton immediately for a short honeymoon trip. That was all, but it was plenty to make the surprise a success.

Miss Herman has been employed in the offices of the Glass Company for a long time, and is a lovable young woman, an efficient business woman too, and has friends by the scores who will certainly sincerely with for her and her husband complete happiness in their new relation. Mr. Gould is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Gould of 618 East Sixteenth street, and he too has hosts of friends who will hasten to congratulate him. He is also employed in the offices of the Glass Company, and both he and his bride worked yesterday at their accustomed tasks. It is said she told no one of her intention to marry yesterday, and although her parents knew of the attachment between her and Mr. Gould, and had no objections, they did not expect to be placed in a position to say: "This is So Sudden."
