After his wife died the family fell apart. The new born babe was given to her aunt to raise. Some of his children were in children's aide society home, one was in Salem Hospital for Feeble minded.
His children blamed him for the death of their mother. He was cremated and the ashes put in a coffee can and buried in the plot with his wife and child. After his wife died he married again in 1916 but the marriage did not last long. She could not control the children left at home. They separated a few years later.
