George I House was born March 5, 1867, at Fulton,Indiana and moved to a farm near Redfield,South Dakota,when he was 19. Later he made the trip to Topeka by horses and wagon and settled on a farm near Watson southeast of Topeka. He and Bertha Burgess were married in 1898.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons,George W. House of Rossville and John I House of Valley Falls; two daughters, Mrs Bertha Moseley of Nevada, Missouri and Mrs Mae Jury of Lathrop, Missouri; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Harley Spencer of Lecompton.
