BRANTLEY, IRENE M. - age 81, of Knoxville, born in Tellico Plains, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice after a long illness.

Irene was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Coleman Brantley and daughter Teresa Ann Brantley.

Survived by her son, Alan Coleman Brantley; daughter, Karen Elaine Bryden and husband Mark; grandsons, Christopher Brantley Bryden and Mitchell Edward Bryden; sisters, Virginia Jo Graves, Lou Johnson, Rosa Palmer, Liela Mae Hall; brother, Clyde Belcher; family friend Chad Privette; a host of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Saturday, from 5 pm until the 7 pm funeral service.

Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Sunday, in Lynnhurst Cemetery, for 11 am interment services.
