Mrs. R.E. Young Is Buried Sat. At Turkey
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m. for Mrs. Tabitha Ann (Rivers) Young in the First Baptist Church at Turkey. She was 78 years of age. The Rev. Gene Lancaster, pastor of the Hope Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. Glenn Smith of Lubbock.
Interment was in the Turkey Cemetery under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Young was born May 5, 1889, at Center Point, Ark., and passed away Nov. 16 at Lockney. She was united in marriage to Robert Eugene Young on Nov. 22, 1906, at Center Point. They moved to Hall County about 50 years ago. Mr. Young preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1961.
Mrs. Young was a member of the Hope Baptist Church, Turkey, where they made their home.
She is survived by four sons, Othell of Amarillo Linous of Turkey, Robert of Toledo, Ohio, and Dick of Irving; four daughters, Mrs. Desda Farley, Bakersfield, Calif., Gladys Hanna, Turkey, Mrs. Dotelha George, Grants Pass, Oreg., and Mrs. Collenn Stone of Turkey; two sisters, Mrs. Hollis Lipscomb, Turkey, and Mrs. Leona Brewer, Turkey; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Euman Lyles, Robert Proctor, Sr., Jess Lipscomb, Bun Farley, James Barefield and Will Cargill.
