Adelaide A. Simcik Fallis was called to eternal rest with the Lord on May 16, 2009 at Brittany Farms Healthcare in New Britain.

She was born in Meriden on September 20, 1919 to the late Stacia and Alexander Simcik where she resided on her family farm on the Chamberlain Highway with her seven brothers. In 1941 she married her husband Steven Fallis who predeceased her in 1978. She was a life long resident of Kensington and member of St. Paul's Church and the Berlin Seniors. Upon moving to Southington she was a member of St. Dominic's Church.

She was well known for her love of cooking, sewing and gardening. Her favorite foods included beef barley soup, golabki, pierogi and sugar cookies. She never allowed her visitors to go hungry. She lived a simple life devoted to her family and closest friends. She enjoyed her weekly trip on the bus to downtown New Britain to go shopping and sitting in her garden with her neighbor Elizabeth Decker talking about whatever would come to mind.

Her passion was to provide a comfortable home and there was nothing she would not do for them. She took care of her grandchildren and offered an unbiased ear when someone came to her to talk. She was very proud of her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments and readily shared her pride with all who would listen. Her family was the center of her life.

She leaves her devoted family Stephen Fallis of Moodus, Peter Fallis and his wife Ann Marie of Southington, Richard Fallis and his wife Rosemarie also of Southington. She will be missed by her beloved grandchildren, Sean, Nick, Frank, Mimi, Jim, Jeff, Jessica, Tim and Dylan and multiple great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-laws Mary Simcik, Helen Simcik and Shirley Fallis as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Alex, Walter, Joseph, Stanley, Anthony, John and Steve and her daughter-in-law Judy. She also leaves behind a life long friend of seventy plus years, Mary Janota of Kensington.

She will be forever loved by her family and closest friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. El Alami for the personal attention he gave their mother and the staff Brittany Farms Healthcare especially those on station 1 and station 4 for their dedication to their care of those they serve.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
