Walter P. Walker was the oldest son of Samuel Franklin Walker and Margaret Emily Baker Walker. He married Mary "Mollie" Enyart 5 Sept. 1895 in Washington Co., AR. They had 12 children: Homer, Harold, Jack, Elsie, Roy, Velma, Donald, Noling "Tony", Virgil, Frieda, Benjamin F. and Wilson Walker.

Walter P. Walker

Walter P. Walker, 62, resident of Springfield for 30 years and a former grain merchant on Commercial street, died at 12:40 a.m. today in his home at 2095 North Johnson avenue after a long illness.

Mr. Walker, who moved to Springfield with his wife from Washington county, Arkansas, was a member of the Church of Christ. He retired from his grain business three years ago because of ill health. He had been a cattle dealer also.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Walker; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Murray, Mrs. Frank O'Kelly, and Mrs. V.O. Waggner; seven sons, Roy, Harold, Jack, Noling, Donald, Frank and Virgil Walker, all of Springfield; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Tunstill and Mrs. E.L. Kelley of Fayetteville, Ark; Mrs. Pearl Bryant of Paris, Texas; Mrs. Winnie Soaps of Greeley, Col., and Mrs. Jessie Brooks of Stillwater, Okla., and ten grandchildren. The Klingner funeral home is in charge.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the Church of Christ, corner Johnson avenue and Dale street. Burial will be in Greenlawn under the direction of Klingner's.
