Francis Leroy Austin, 95, formerly of Warder Avenue, Grafton, passed away Saturday (Aug. 15, 2009) at Grafton City Hospital.He was born in Tunnelton on April 20, 1914, a son of the late Arlington Clay Austin and Mary Jane (Bolyard) Austin.He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Edna Ola (Channell) Austin; five children, Ruby Louise Nine of Martinsburg, Ivan Leroy Austin and wife Dolores Austin of Fairmont, Dorothy Faye Hostler of Grafton, James Douglas Austin and wife Carolyn Austin of Creston, Ohio, and William Dwight Austin and wife Elizabeth Austin of Morgantown; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Oneta Violet Abbott of Canton, Ohio, and Alma Viola Thompson of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and two sons-in-law.Francis was a retired self-employed carpenter, a member of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps), Boy Scouts of America and a Civil Air Patrol Jr. Pilot.He was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church in Grafton.The family will receive friends at Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ron Thorn officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
