Obituary: James Dennis Thurman, age 85, of Gautier, MS., died Thursday, May, 26, 2005 in Ocean Springs Hospital. Born Sept. 20, 1919, in Simpson Co., MS., To the late Eligah Dennis and Emma Leona Sullivan Thurman. He had lived in Gautier most of his life. Mr. Thurman was a member of United Pentecostal Church of Gautier, and had served as Sunday School Director for over 25 years. MR. Thurman loved gardening, and sold vegetables out of his home. He was known around town as "The Tomato Man". He worked as an electrician for Ingalls Shipyard for many years. Other survivors include many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
