Sidney Sanderlin worked for the Coast Guard out of Florida, dying at age of 30. Sanderlin and two other Guardsmen, Victor Lamby and Robert Webster, were with the Federal Secret Service. They had just arrested a suspect near the Bimini Islands in the Bahama's, for illegal rum running. The suspect shot and killed all three Guardsmen. One of the other suspects connected to the crime, turned State's evidence, and was only sentenced to one year in prison. The other suspect was sentenced to death and hung at the Coast Guard Station in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
