Funeral Rites Held For Charles M. McEachern

VAIDEN, Miss.—Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Reginald S. Lowe, pastor of Winona Presbyterian Church were held at Midway Church Sunday afternoon, September 7th, at 3:00 o'clock for Charles M. McEachern, who was fatally injured on Friday, Sept. 6th, when he fell under the moving wheels of a milk truck. Interment followed in Midway Cemetery with the Armstrong-Hawkins Post, No. 94 of the American Legion conducting the service at the grave with military honors.

Charlie, as he was affectionately known, was the youngest son of the late Daniel McEachern and his wife, Mrs. Julia Ross McEachern. He was born in the Midway community, Carroll County, on March 2, 1928. He united with Blackmonton Presbyterian Church in his childhood. He attended Vaiden High School until shortly before he entered the United States Army Air Corps in May, 1946. He served with the 11th Airborne Division in Japan from September of the same year until he was discharged in May, 1947.

Charlie was a favorite among both young and old. His friendly smile, happy disposition and genial manner won for him a place in the hearts of all who knew him, for to know him was to love hire. He was a loyal, devoted son, a kind, affectionate brother and a true and thoughtful friend.

He is survived by his mother; four sisters, Mrs. Joe Haddakin, Prairie, Miss., Mrs. Joe Ochranek, Washington, D. C. Mrs. R. L. Stuart, North Hollywood, California, and Mrs. Lidell Stuart, San Francisco, California; and four brothers, Ross McEachern, U. S. Navy, Philadelphia, Penn., Kenneth McEachern, U. S. Army Air Corps, Fairbanks, Alaska, Millage and Oscar McEachern, both of Vaiden.

Pallbearers were John Fisher, Jr., B. H. Nixon, W. R. Brock, J. F. Herring, Frank Eades and R. L. Rosamond.
