Benyo was the first scout master of troop 133 an instructor in life saving and water safety for the American Red Cross both inPennsylvania and Virginia; and a member of the Dolon-Jones Martino AmericanLegion Post 304,Jim Thorpe.for 62 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War 11,having been a lieutenant attached to a mobile force in the South Pacific as a cryptographer.
Surviving are two sons Richard in California,and Andrew of Jim Thorpe,two daughters Kathleen of Nesquehoning and Barbara of Jim Thorpe,three sisters Anita Armbruster,Anna Kusko and Madeline Poshefko,eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildrenHe was preded in death by two brothers and thre sisters.
