On July 8, 1930, a beautiful baby girl was born to Lexie Alexander Sr. and Tennessee Parks Alexander in Magnolia Community, whom they named, Ora Lee. She grew up in and attended school in Magnolia Community.

She united in marriage to Andrew Hawkins Sr., and they were blessed with 11 children.

Ora Lee worked for Holiday Inn in Texas City as a cook. She was also owner of Blue Diamond in Hitchcock, Texas. She was a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Texas City under the leadership of Pastor Robert Maxey, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the mission until her health failed her.

Ora Lee departed this life September 6, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Geraldine Hawkins; son, Wayne James Hawkins; four brothers, Timothy Fields, Lexie Alexander Jr., Pierce Alexander and Anthony Alexander; four sisters, Inez (Henry), Bernice, Lizzie Mae (Jack Nichols) and Lena B.; a granddaughter, Shalonda; twin grandsons, Walter and Wayne James Hawkins; sister-in-law, Bevelyn Alexander; and sons-in-law, Eddie Hawkins, Leon Stewart and Salen Glover.

Left to cherish her beautiful memories are a devoted and loving husband, Andrew Hawkins Sr.; children, Thelma Glover, Mary Stewart, Andrew Hawkins Jr., Dorothy White, Charles Hawkins (Annette), Walter Hawkins (Brenda), Ann Hawkins and Dwight Hawkins; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry Alexander of Danciger, Texas, and Bishop Hollis Hall (Marie) of Freeport; sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Alexander of Brazoria and Leoteen Alexander of Old Ocean
