Newspaper notice: BERRY -- (Died) at his home on Hasting's Mesa on Saturday, Feb. 21, 1903 of apoplexy. J.S. Berry, aged 50 years, 3 months and 9 days. The body was brought to Montrose and funeral service held in the M.E. Church on Tuesday. Rev. C.E. Webb officiating, after which the body was taken to Ridgway and laid in the tomb. Mr. Berry was well and favorably known in Montrose, have a number of relations living here. The many friends of the decesed extend their heartfelt sympothy to those who were near and dear to him. -- The Montrose Press (Montrose, CO) Feb. 26, 1903
